Vega Salmon was established in 2005. As of today Vega Salmon is a part of Vega Sea Group. Vega Salmon is a primary and secondary salmon processing facility as well as processing other top quality fish products. The people behind Vega Salmon have more than 50 years combined experience in the salmon industry. That is why we keep the best of the old traditions with an innovative approach that is proving to be very successful.
Our new flagship factory in Flensburg, Germany was completed in September 2012. Employing over 200 qualified staff on average and servicing major European retailers, wholesalers, food service and industry companies as well as customers in overseas markets. Vega Salmon has seen it’s fortunes improve dramatically in recent years.
We focus on processing, selling and marketing high quality products with a continued dedication to building strong relationships with our customers by exceeding their expectations. We’re not afraid to find the creative solutions that help our customers meet their varied demands for delivery, service and high quality products.

THERE ARE NO SHORT CUTS, NO QUICK FIXES OR LOOP HOLES WHEN IT COMES TO QUALITY. AT LEAST NOT FOR US ANYWAY.
We take quality and hygiene very seriously that’s why we have our own laboratory and run our production in accordance with international food safety standards. This enables us to identify risks in the production process, pay close attention to those risks, document all measurements, observations and other details to ensure a vigilant approach to quality control.
New employees are trained in Vega Salmon’s hygiene politics and how to produce in accordance with international food safety standards while all employees regularly attend relevant hygiene courses.
These are all steps taken to make sure Vega Salmon’s products are of the highest quality and to that end we keep up to date on whatever international standards of certification our customers require.

The assembly of machinery includes the latest technologies in producing smoked fish products. All contributing to securing a high and consistent product quality and meeting the customers’ requests.
Vega uses traditional production methods, for instance a stone kiln which gives the fish a unique smoked aroma. We also use the well-known and acknowledged dry salting that gives the smoked products a firmer consistency.
All these elements combine to create a very flexible production process.

THE FLENSBURG FACTORY IS A SHINING EXAMPLE OF VEGA SALMON’S APPROACH TO MAKING GREAT TASTING PRODUCTS. THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL. WHETHER IT’S THE TECHNOLOGIES INVOLVED, THE WAY IT FUNCTIONS, THE ENVIRONMENT OR THE WAY IT LOOKS EVERYTHING IS DESIGNED TO BE THE BEST WE CAN MAKE IT.
With the capacity to produce more than 15,000 MT per year the 11,000 m2 plant is one of the most technologically advanced facilities in the world. The processing equipment is design specifically for the Vega Salmon to ensure the highest flexibility, efficiency and food safety requirements are met if not exceeded.
With the latest technologies in smoked fish production and streamlined production flow the factory produces with the highest possible efficiency in proportion its size. And it all contributes to a more consistent product quality to meet our customers needs.
We also recycle our energy to heat the factory or warm water for cleaning, one of many approaches we’ve taken in consideration to both the environment and efficiency.
